Ohio Closes December 2024 and Year-End with Higher Home Sales and Prices
According to Ohio REALTORS, activity across the Ohio housing marketplace rose in December, as sales increased 6.3 percent from the level reached during the month a year ago.
Home sales in December 2024 reached 9,890, a 6.3% increase from the 9,306 home sales recorded during the month a year ago. The average sales price across Ohio in December reached $288,707, a 9.3% increase from the $264,094 mark posted in December 2023.

Around the state, 11 out of 14 markets tracked experienced an increase in average sale price for the month compared to December 2023.
Overall, Ohio ended 2024 with home sales activity up 2.1% compared to January-December 2023. Year-to-date sales (January-December 2024) reached 131,716, up from 129,064 homes sold a year ago.
The average sales price in 2024 was $291,062, a 7.3% increase from the $271,321 mark set in 2023.
