In Memoriam: Philip O. Morrical, Jr. (1938-2013)
Morrical, who served as president of OAR (1993) and was honored as its REALTOR of the Year in 1987, also served as president of the Hamilton, Fairfield & Oxford Board of REALTORS and was selected as the Board's REALTOR of the Year in 1986 and 1993, had a distinguished real estate career and was an active member of his local community.
The owner/broker of Morrical Realty, he was a self-made man that entered the real estate business in 1971 after having worked a Champion Papers for a number of years. A devoted contributor to the local community by volunteering his time and talent to various organizations, the city of Hamilton recognized his service by declaring Sept. 15, 1987 as Philip O. Morrical, Jr. Day.
In his efforts to help the American Dream of home ownership, he donated property and buildings to the Butler County Neighborhood Association and to Habitat for Humanity to help their housing projects.
Morrical remained active within the REALTOR organization, earning recognition as a Lifetime RPAC member and was awarded the prestigious Omega Tau Rho Medal of Service by NAR. He was serving as vice chair of the OAR Pension Trustees.
