Coaching Corner: Are you ready?

Are you ready to commit to honoring yourself through extreme self care? Yep, extreme self care. Some of you reading this may be currently taking good care of yourselves. And, some of you may just be squeaking by. Either way, its time to bring our self care up a notch...or two!
We only have one body to nurture and care for. We need to find ways to consistently do this so that as we become older, our bodies can keep up.
It’s a given that the physical apparatus we are lugging around requires some form of exercise. Don’t just exercise because you think you “should.” Find something that you truly enjoy -- perhaps it is a sport. Or perhaps its just walking -- great! Find your place within the fitness world and participate consistently.
Here is another tip that you may find interesting. Currently, I see a doctor for wellness reasons. He has a number of videos on a variety of topics on his website that you may find appealing. These are there regardless of whether or not you are a patient.
One of the topics that he requested I watch was about heart rate variability. I had no idea how important this is in the prevention and detection of disease. In watching the videos (there are two), I have learned how to monitor this very important piece of the body puzzle. It involves a heart rate strap (make sure you get the correct one), and a free app (Elite HRV). It gives you specific ongoing information that plays directly into your current exercise program.
This is just one little thing that you can do to work with your body, rather than against it. Please take this information if it is a fit for you. If not, find your way to keep your body working at its best!
