Coaching Corner: Beauty and your beast

Today is a good day! Yesterday, however, sucked! For most of the day, I felt cranky and uncomfortable in my own skin. This may feel familiar to you as well. The bigger problem was that I was feeling agitated by how I felt, so it just got worse! This is how things work -- when we continue to put our attention on something we do not like, it just gets bigger! The good news is that it works in the positive as well. But apparently I was not having any of it yesterday!
So, you might ask, what needs to happen when we are having one of those days? Well, if you can recognize it soon enough, often times you can talk, breathe or move yourself back into a better feeling place. If it has progressed beyond being able to accomplish that, your best bet is to just go with it -- own the feeling without pushing against it and most often, there will be a shift that occurs.
We all have good sides and not so good sides -- just go ahead and admit it! When you can do that, you can observe your “beast†without judgement and can actually move to a place where you can even find amusement!
So go have yourself a great day…………or not!!! Either way, no judgement!
