Coaching Corner: What do you stand for?
By "Coach" Marilou Butcher Roth
Today is Veteran's Day -- a day where we honor the men and women who have given themselves to their country. It is clear that past as well as current military stand for something. They stand for America, they stand for honor, they stand for us.
What do you stand for? Given the political climate this week, I believe it is a critical question to pose to yourself. Do not worry about others, just you. What do you stand for? Do you stand for unity or division? Do you stand for hope or despair? Do you stand for calm or chaos? Do you stand for kindness or judgement?
Think about your answer and then notice if that is what your thoughts, conversations and actions reflect that answer. If you feel you stand for calm but continue to focus on everything you are not liking, then you are working against yourself and what you do stand for -- your otter world must reflect your inner world. Take time this week to be clear about you, what is important to you and how you bring that into your life.
And today, let us think about and appreciate each man and woman who stood up for us!
Happy Veterans Day!
