Mayfield Village REALTOR Sara Calo installed as OAR's 2016 President

Sara Calo of Mayfield Village was installed as 2016 president of the Ohio Association of REALTORS (OAR) during the organization's Winter Conference, January 17-19, in Columbus.
Installed to the post of president-elect was Pete Kopf of Cincinnati and to the office of treasurer, Tiffany Meyer of Ashland.
Calo has been a licensed REALTOR since 1998. She is a member of the Lake & Geauga Area Association of REALTORS and the Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS; and is licensed with Howard Hanna.
On the local level, Sara has served as President of the Lake Geauga Area Association of REALTORS and on numerous committees including: Nominating, RPAC, Finance, Legislative and Strategic Planning. She also served on the District 2 YPN Advisory Board and as an instructor for the New REALTOR Orientation. She has received the LGAAR REALTOR of the Year, CABOR Professional of the Year and WCR Business Person of the Year among many other awards of distinction. She is a graduate of Leadership Lake County, Class of 2012 and has served as chairman of her local Chamber of Commerce.
On the state level, Sara served as President-elect in 2015, Treasurer in 2014, District #2 Vice President from 2011-2012, and as an OAR Director since 2005. She has served as chairman of several OAR committees, including Finance, Communications, Economic Issues & Trends Forum and the Political Activity & RPAC Fundraising Committee, where during her year as chair, the RPAC campaign exceed its goal by almost $100,000. She has also served as a member of the Executive Committee, Enlarged Legislative, Legislative Steering, Research Advisory, Professional Development and Scholarship Committees. She has received OAR's President's Sales Club Award of Distinction for several years.
On the national level, Sara has served on the Global Business & Alliances Committee, RPAC Participation Council, Business Issues Policy, Research, Consumer Communications and Diversity Committees. In 2016 she will serve as the State Representative of the RPAC Major Investor Council. She served as Federal Political Coordinator (FPC) for Representative Marcy Kaptur. Sara served as the Ohio representative to NAR's My REALTOR Party Participation Council. She was a NAR director in 2014 and will continue in that position through 2017. She contributes to RPAC at the Golden R Major Investor Level and is a President's Circle Member.
Sara holds the ABR (Accredited Buyer's Representative), CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), PMN (Performance Management Network), AHWD (At Home With Diversity), e-PRO, RSS professional designations. She is also a member of the Council or Residential Specialists, Women's Council of REALTORS, National Association of Hispanic REALTORS and Real Estate Buyer's Agency Council. In 2016 she is a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) candidate
Sara and her husband, Jack, reside in Mayfield Village, Ohio and have two daughters.

On the local level, Kopf served as President of the Cincinnati Area Board of REALTORS (CABR) in 2011. He served on numerous committees including: Budget & Finance, RPAC, Strategic Planning, Legislative, Emerging Issues, MLS Operations, YPN and Professional Standards. He has been a Circle of Excellence member since 2000 and received the CABR REALTOR of the Year-Sales in 2005. He has been a REALTOR since 1996, following graduation with a bachelor's degree in finance from the Farmer School of Business, Miami University, in 1995.
On the state level Kopf has been an OAR Director since 2007. He served as a member of numerous OAR Committees, including Legislative Steering, Local Government, Issues Mobilization, Strategic Planning, Nominating, Executive and Finance, among others.
Additionally, he has been an NAR Director from 2010-2011, and 2015-2018. In 2014, he served on the Meetings and Convention Committee and has served on its Business Issues Committee (2011, 2013-2016). He served as a member of NAR's Member Communication Committee in 2015 and is the vice chair of the organization's Idea Exchange Council for Brokers in 2016. He contributes to RPAC at the Silver R Major Investor Level and is a President's Circle Member.
Civically, Kopf is a co-founder and board member of Cincinnati Golfers for Charity, a member of the Greater Cincinnati Arthritis Foundation Annual Fund Committee and chair of the St. Mary Parrish Festival from 2013-2015.
Kopf, and his wife, Heather, have three children and reside in the Hyde Park community of Cincinnati.

On the local level, Meyer served as President of the Ashland Board of REALTORS in 2005 and again in 2014. She served on numerous Board Committees, including Broker, Grievance, Public Relations, RPAC, Website, MLS, Nominating, Professional Standards and Legislative. Additionally, Meyer served on a special Board subcommittee concerning Septic System Regulations (2014-2015). She has been a REALTOR since 1995, following graduation with a bachelor's degree in real estate, urban analysis and marketing from The Ohio State University.
On the state level, Meyer served as OAR District Vice President (2008-2009 and 2014-2015) and has been a Director since 2004. She served as a member of numerous OAR Committees, including Legislative, Strategic Planning, Convention, Executive, Products & Services, and Young Professionals Network. She also served on several OAR Task Forces, including Contingency Planning, Licensing and as chair of Generational Diversity. Meyer received the organization's REALTOR of the Year Award in 2015.
Additionally, Meyer has served as a member of NAR Committees, including Convention and Land Use. She has served as the industry's liaison with Congressman Bob Gibbs since 2011. Meyer was instrumental in working with Rep. Gibbs in introducing the Waters of the US legislation into Congress. She contributes to RPAC at the Sterling R Major Investor Level.
She holds NAR's Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) professional designation and is working toward the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation.
Civically, she has been involved with the Ashland Area Chamber of Commerce, serving as a member of its Legislative Committee and Young Professionals Network. She has also been involved with the Ashland County Humane Society, Leadership Ashland Graduate, Future Farmers of America, Ashland County Republican Party and offers life skill training on home ownership at local high schools.
