Terry Hankner honored with profession's 'Lifetime Achievement Award'
OAR Past President Terry Hankner celebrates being named the 2014 recipient of the "Vincent T. Aveni Lifetime Achievement Award" with her husband, John
REALTOR Terry Hankner, of Cincinnati, was honored as the 2014 recipient of the Ohio Association of REALTORS' Vincent T. Aveni Lifetime Achievement Award.
Hankner is president of Comey & Shepherd REALTORS, Cincinnati. She is a past president of both OAR and Cincinnati Area Board of REALTORS.
The Vincent T. Aveni Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes those past presidents of the Ohio Association of REALTORS that provided exemplary service to the organization. Aveni served as president of the organization in 1980 and the award was created after his passing in 2006.
On the state level, Hankner served as president of the Ohio Association of REALTORS in 2001.
Additionally, she served as a member and president of the Ohio Real Estate Commission (2009-2012); member and chair of the Cincinnati Planning Commission (1988-2006); member of the Hamilton County Natural Resources Advisory Council (2001-2006); member and chair of the Education and Research Advisory Committee of the Ohio Division of Real Estate (2002-2008); chair of the OAR Task Force on Limited Service Brokerage (2005-2006); and chair of the Ohio Division of Real Estate Special Task Force on Real Estate Credentialing (2012-present). She has served as a member of the OAR Board of Directors since 1987.
On the national level, Hankner has served as an NAR Director from Ohio (1991-1992, 2002-2005 and 2007-2009) and as NAR Region 6 Vice President, representing Ohio and Michigan, in 2004.
Hankner has received numerous awards for her service to the REALTOR organization and community, including: Community Housing Resources Board Award of Appreciation (1988); OAR Outstanding Real Estate Educator (1992); Cincinnati Area Board of REALTORS' REALTOR of the Year (1995); State Resolution from Sen. Richard Finan for Exemplary Service (2001); OAR President's Award for work on Agency Disclosure (2005); Mayor Mark Mallory declared "Terry Hankner Day in Cincinnati" (June 4, 2006); and Governor's Proclamation for service to the Ohio Real Estate Commission (2012).

"Throughout her career, Terry has provided unparalleled leadership and vision to the advancement of the real estate profession, as well as finding time to make her community a better place to live and work."
Past recipients of the Vincent T. Aveni Lifetime Achievement Award are: Vince Aveni (2007 -- posthumously), Paul Everson (2008), Harley E. Rouda (2009), Owen Hall (2010), George Smith (2011), Steve Brown (2012) and Barbara Lach (2013).
The Ohio Association of REALTORS, with more than 27,000 members, is the largest professional trade association in Ohio.
