Cliff Bellar named OAR's 2014 'REALTOR of the Year'
The announcement of Bellar's selection was made at the Association's 104th Annual Convention, Sept. 8-10 in Cleveland.
Bellar was nominated by the Medina County Board of REALTORS and is associated with RE/MAX Crossroads.
Judging of the REALTOR of the Year award is based on professional achievements, local REALTOR Board/Association activities, service to the Ohio and National Association of REALTORS, as well as business and education experience and civic activities.
Bellar served as president of the Medina County Board of REALTORS in 2003. He has served as chairman on a variety of the Board's Committees, including its Finance, Legislative, Commercial, RPAC, Housing, Nominating and Technology committees, among others. Bellar was instrumental in forming the Board's Commercial Committee and helped it earn accreditation with the National Association of REALTORS, along with helping it acquire two NAR Commercial Innovation Grants. He also created Medina Open for Business, an educational forum held annually in the fall.
On the state level, Bellar has served as a member of the organization's Board of Directors and as chair of the OAR Commercial/Industrial Committee and as a member of OAR's Legislative Committee and Local Government and Legal Issues Forums.
Civically, he has been involved with Medina's Housing Network and Medina County Rebuilding Together, serving as its president of both organizations. Additionally, he helped connect the Medina County Board of REALTORS' Housing & Growth Committee to partner for REALTOR Care Days in the community.
The Ohio Association of REALTORS, with more than 27,000 members, is the largest professional trade association in Ohio.
