Senator Jon Husted Joins Ohio REALTORS for Meet and Greet
On Tuesday, April 15, U.S. Senator Jon Husted joined members and staff of Ohio REALTORS® for a meet and greet hosted by the National REALTOR® Party. Local and state association leadership, volunteers, and staff gathered for the event at the Ohio REALTORS® office.
The event provided a chance to hear directly from Senator Husted about his legislative priorities. Guests also had time for one-on-one conversations to share concerns, ask questions, and discuss issues important to their communities.
Senator Husted addressed the group, reflecting on his transition from state government to the U.S. Senate. He spoke about the honor of serving Ohio at the federal level and shared his enthusiasm for the work ahead in the Senate.
During the event, attendees asked questions—many of which centered on the housing market in Ohio and broader policy solutions to address challenges facing the state. Senator Husted responded by drawing on his experience in Ohio state government and offered insights into how federal policy could support housing initiatives across the state.
One key takeaway from the discussion was Senator Husted’s emphasis on tackling the high costs associated with building homes. He noted that local and state regulations often create expensive roadblocks, making housing development more difficult. He expressed a desire to streamline the planning process, adjust regulatory barriers, and make it easier for both builders and consumers to access affordable housing.
