MLS Now announces retirement of CEO Carl DeMusz

After 28 years of service in the real estate industry, MLS Now, based in Cleveland, Ohio, has announced the retirement of its CEO, Carl DeMusz, at the end of 2023. DeMusz, a respected industry leader, served in various roles, including REALTOR®, broker, and MLS executive. He played a key role in creating NEOHREX, the industry's first shared database between two MLSs, ultimately leading to the merger of NORMLS and CRIS MLS, forming Ohio's largest MLS with around 14,500 customers.

DeMusz's contributions extended beyond the MLS industry. He served in various industry leadership positions, including as president of the New Jersey Association of Realtors, earning recognition for his outstanding contributions. Upon transitioning to an MLS executive role, he continued to excel, serving in multiple leadership roles and committees, including those at Ohio REALTORS, as well as on the national level with the National Association of Realtors (NAR).

Recognized for his progressive thinking and leadership, DeMusz was part of the COVE group, an advisory group of the top 25 MLSs, and was appointed to advisory boards for Trulia and Realtor.com.

In his retirement announcement, DeMusz expressed pride in his accomplishments and the relationships he built in his 23 years with MLS Now and his extensive service to the industry. Lenny Lawrence, chairman of the board at MLS Now, praised DeMusz's leadership, work ethic, and contributions, noting the organization's achievements in customer-centricity.
