Ohio REALTORS launch Statewide Professional Standards Administration program
By Sharon Sample, Ohio REALTORS Vice President of Board Services & Programming
Ohio REALTORS is excited to announce the launch of a new Statewide Professional Standards Administration program on July 1.
The program, developed by a work group formed in 2021, is designed to establish a consistent process for enforcement of the Code of Ethics across the state. The workgroup identified key issues and challenges of the current process and formulated enforcement procedures that will be uniformly applied throughout the state under the new program.
Currently, all 31 of Ohio's Local Boards/Associations have opted into the program either fully or partially. The program will include REALTOR representation from all five Ohio REALTORS districts, with members serving in the roles of ombudsman, mediators, grievance, and professional standards panelists.
The program, which will be run out of the Ohio REALTORS Board Services and Legal departments, will be administered by Sandy Naragon, the former Chief Executive Officer of the Akron Cleveland Association of REALTORS. Naragon, who has more than 40 years of experience within the REALTOR organization, is a recognized expert in the professional standards area, having served as Chair of Ohio REALTORS Professional Standards Committee in 2021 and has conducted grievance and professional standards training for fellow Association Executives.
