Coaching Corner: Are you finding the time?
By Marilou Butcher Roth, Master Coach
Earlier this week, Ohio REALTORS lost someone dear, Bob Fletcher, “Fletch,” passed away leaving many of us feeling this loss in different ways. This is a part of life that is not easy to experience and yet, it is something we all face. In reflecting on my own time with Bob, I realized that I could have reached out to him more frequently than I did, always thinking I would find the time after I _________ (fill in the various blanks).
It is a safe assumption that some of you have found yourself in similar situations. No need to be self critical, that doesn’t change what has happened in the past. The beauty of experience is what we can glean from it, and the realization that is so apparent to me is the importance of our relationships. Whether family member or friend, someone living close or perhaps in a different part of the country or the world, we can reach out and ensure that our relationships are where we want them to be. Ideally, living in a way where we have no regrets.
This week, give some thought to your relationships and how you would like to interact with those people, be it a visit, a phone call, etc. It’s up to you! Make sure the people you care about know that you do. We may have a full life with activities that are important to us, and I invite you to seek out the time for our relationships. You (and they) will be glad you did!
