Ohio REALTORS say farewell to Beth Wanless
By Scott Williams, Ohio REALTORS Chief Executive Officer
Ohio’s REALTOR community will be saying farewell to Beth Wanless, who has served as the industry’s legislative voice at the Ohio Statehouse since year 2019, at year-end.
Beth, the Ohio REALTORS Director of Government Affairs, has announced that she will be pursuing a new professional endeavor after four years of stellar, dedicated service on behalf of the Association. She has certainly left her mark and was instrumental in advancing the interests of REALTORS and property owners alike.
She has served the REALTOR organization for nearly 13 years. Prior to joining Ohio REALTORS, Beth served as Government Affairs Director & Regional Manager of Member Outreach for Illinois REALTORS and for the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM).
Under Beth’s watch, the Ohio REALTORS advocacy efforts have been highly successfully, notably:
- Passage of legislation placing limitations on property tax appeals;
- Preempting rent control measures;
- Establishing consumer protections pertaining to Residential Property Assessed Clean Energy (R-PACE) financing;
- Allowing for the removal of discriminatory covenants from property deeds;
- And helping the industry navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic; among others.
On behalf of staff and Ohio’s more than 37,000 REALTORS, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Beth for sharing her friendship and talent over the past few years. We wish her nothing but success in her future professional endeavors.
