Coaching Corner: Be ready!
By Marilou Butcher Roth, Master Coach
We had a family situation this week that created a thought for me around being pro-active. Obviously, you cannot predict what might come your way, and yet, there are countless areas of your life where you can look ahead and plan.
For instance, let’s begin with your health. Are you the type of person who imagines your body is still that of a teenager and behave as such? This would include what and how you eat, how and how much you participate in some sort of exercise, your regular check ups, etc. Like it or not, as we age, our bodies do change and honoring those changes will create a much easier road for you. Again, we cannot predict some illnesses, things do happen. If you are being pro-active with your health, even if an illness comes your way, your body will be in a much better position to handle it.
What about your finances? How can you be pro-active there? Do you just wait until “something” happens that requires a large amount of your money? Or can you plan for the unexpected?
Another area to explore might be your relationships. Do you take your loved ones for granted, assuming they will always be there? Well, they may not! What can you do to create a more solid foundation for your relationships to give them the time and honor they deserve?
I realize I am tossing more questions than answers. These need to be your individual thoughts and actions. Hopefully the questions will take you to some new ideas to create measures that will bring more ease into your life.
Today, begin to ask yourself these questions and then take note of your answers!
