Coaching Corner: A black tie event
By Marilou Butcher Roth, Master Coach
Yesterday was one of my grandsons birthday -- his 14th birthday to be exact. This particular love of my life has always leaned into new and exciting experiences, seemingly well beyond his years. For his third birthday, he requested a tie, which he sported proudly at pre-school!
This year, he is having a “Black Tie Event,” scheduled for tomorrow night, with a few of his chosen friends. His mother is creating a four course dinner for this group to celebrate. He created individual invitations, encouraging his friends to dress “fancy,” understanding that everyone might not have a suit. I am so looking forward to pictures and stories!
What about you? How do you celebrate life? Yourself? We take so much for granted, don’t we? What would life look like if you took the time to find ways to celebrate even small parts of your life?
This invitation is not to attend the above black tie event, it is for you to open to a new way of thinking. I invite you to create some celebrations for yourself, be they large or small. Seek out those items that you want to acknowledge for yourself, or even for someone else.
If not now...when?
