Coaching Corner: How strong is your foundation?

Earlier this week, I facilitated a leadership training out of town which required a full day of working with some great leaders, as well as flights the day before and the day after. This isn’t new, and yet, this one kicked my butt! What I realized is I had not been up to speed with my normal self care. Now to be fair, that was partially due to a sore back, which kept me from my regularly scheduled workouts. Identifying the distinction between this workshop compared to others was relatively quick and easy, and oh so valuable!
The importance of generating self care is huge for all of us, and shows up differently for each of us. What I do to bolster myself and strengthen my foundation will most probably look nothing like yours. The specifics will vary, the important piece is that you are looking at yourself, asking how you can be physically, mentally and spiritually at your best.
This is an ongoing process, requiring commitment and consistency. This week, please take some quiet time to identify what actions (or non-actions) will fortify you, allowing you to flow easily through what life tosses your way!
