New Core Standards for State and Local REALTOR Associations

Starting in 2015, the ___________ Board of REALTORS along with the Ohio Association of REALTORS, as a condition of membership in the National Association of REALTORS, must meet NAR’s Organizational Alignment Core Standards, a set of requirements that fall into six categories:

Code of Ethics
Consumer Outreach
Unification Efforts and Support of the REALTOR Organization
Financial Solvency

REALTOR associations, including the __________________ Board of REALTORS must certify compliance with the standards by June 30, 2015—and by June 30 of each subsequent year—or be subject to revocation of its charter.

Why is that of interest to you, the Ohio homeowner? The new standards will raise the bar for REALTOR associations and ensure high-quality service for it members, the REALTORS, which will then be passed down to a REALTORS clients and customers. That’s you.

Enforcement of the Organizational Alignment Core Standards will be the joint responsibility of the local associations, state and National Association.

And remember, the next time you are ready to buy or sell a home, be sure to contact a REALTOR, a member of the _____________________ Board of REALTORS.
